Acadian Alarm Center

The Acadian On Watch monitoring center is located within the Acadian Ambulance Communication Center, a secure facility guarded by electronic locks and monitored by a closed-circuit television system that meets national fire code and Underwriters Laboratories standards. Our central station is CSAA 5 Diamond-certified and holds the distinction of being one of only a select few in the nation to hold the UL 2050 certification.

The monitoring center is a self-powered facility. In the event of a power failure, our dual uninterrupted power supply, or UPS, system provides power to the center for a minimum of four hours, which is a UL requirement. In addition to the UPS system, diesel generators automatically power the center to full capacity. The UPS units continuously supply power to our computer, phone and radio systems as well as to the communications center.

Fiber optic telephone lines are supplied in two separate paths from the phone company to our building to prevent interruptions in service.
